An Ayr and Alloway rink comprising Alan Richmond (skip), Ed Baines, Ken Ireland and Douglas Haddow played against a strong Dalmellington rink in the Province KO competition, on 24 February 2022.

The club has recently competed in the Ross Low competition at Ayr Ice Rink. It is played as two mini-leagues, followed by a semi-final and final.

Sandy Gow RIP

Sandy Gow passed away peacefully in his sleep on 25 January 2022, aged 95 years, in Creggan Bahn Care Home.

Bella (Dr Annabell Mary Kennedy - nee Madden) died on 20 October 2021 after a long battle with cancer. She was an active member of Ayr & Alloway since March 1998, and served both on the Committee and as President in 2010-11. She ably skipped in our League and enjoyed mentoring the developing skips in the Knockout.

In our annual match against Gangrels at Ayr Ice rink two A&A took part and comprised, Rink 1, Alex Thomson (skip), Alan Richmond, Annette Paterson and Hugh Kennedy. Rink 2, Alan McKinlay (skip), Ken Ireland, Liz Tait and Douglas Haddow.

An Ayr and Alloway rink comprising Alan McKinlay (skip), David Gray, Hugh Kennedy and Allan Chapman took part in the Parish Trophy against a strong Dundonald rink skipped by Morag Evans.

The club entered 2 rinks in the Province Medal. Rink 1 comprised Alan Mitchell (skip), John MacLeod, Ed Baines and Hugh Kennedy. Rink 2 comprised Jim Nelson (skip), Ken Ireland, Alex Thomson and Douglas Haddow.

Milly Beattie finished her impressive run in the KO League, by beating Willie Scott in the final game, which turned out to be the decider. She only dropped one point in the seven game campaign.

After a solid win against Galston 2 in the quarter final of the Rink Championship the Ayr and Alloway rink comprising Ed Baines (Skip), Jim Nelson, Willie Scott and Alan McKinlay did not underestimate the challenge Fairywell would provide in the semi final.
