The annual Points Competition traditionally attracts a small entry, but this year we were delighted to welcome two new players – Tricia McKeand and Douglas Haddow. And of course Points regular, Elma Stevenson, was there. A total of nine contested the Blairston Medal, with good quality ice producing a close finish. Charlie Steele triumphed with 36 points, followed by Geoff Barber on 34 and David Gray on 32.
Everyone, including the new recruits, enjoyed the experience with Tricia’s highlight being successfully drawing through the port, a challenge which defeated most of the others.
Thanks to Ed Baines and Ken Gray for braving the cold and doing the scoring. And to Ayr and Alloway for paying for all the ice.
