The finals of the High and Low Roads took place this evening and in the battle of the ladies for the High Road (and the Crawford Cup) Jan Barber’s rink was always in command and emerged victorious over Jean Thomson by 6 shots to 2.
The Low Road final was to be contested between Ken Gray and Camille Macdonald. Unfortunately Camille was injured and in her place the rink was skipped by Alex Thomson. Perhaps the rink would have fared better if Camille had been present because despite getting off to a flier with 3 shots at the first end Alex did not win another end and Ken ran out the winner by 7 shots to 3! As a result Ken picked up the McCreath Medal, the prize for the Low Road victor.
